Take a Moment to Test Yourself for Muscle Imbalances Right Now.
The underlying cause of 90% of back pain is muscle imbalances and if you
take a moment to try this quick test I will demonstrate what I mean.
Firstly
stand in front of a mirror with your shirt off, relax and look at your
shoulders. Are they level? or is one side higher than the other?
Now look at the space
between your arms and your torso as your arms hang by your side, are the
spaces the same on both sides?
What about your head and
where your neck joins your upper body, does it look centred and is your jaw
in the centre of your neck?
Try gripping your waist by resting your thumb and first finger on top of
your hip bones , is one hand a little higher than the other?
The differences between
one side of your body and the other show up the existence of muscle
imbalances and your potential to suffer from back pain or worse,
sciatica.
Remember in the upright
position you are carrying the weight of gravity around and your body needs
to be balanced to do that effortlessly. Otherwise pressure spots will
build up in certain joints in your body and that's the beginning of pain.
