Balanced Approach to Treating Allergies
It is usually the case that allergies are treated
with conventional western medicine. Conventional treatments may appear to be
a good start in the fight against allergies as relief is almost instant.
However, there is a growing body of evidence and a growing community of
practitioners who propose alternative or holistic ways of treating and
preventing allergies.
Alarming Statistics on Allergies
Allergy cases are rising at
alarming rates. Here are the latest findings:
1. Estimates from a skin test survey suggest that allergies affect more than
50 million people in the United States.
2. Allergy has now become
the 5th leading chronic disease in the U.S. among all ages, and the 3rd
common chronic disease among children under 18 years old.
3. A recent nationwide
survey found that more than half (54.6 percent) of all U.S. citizens test
positive to one or more allergens.
